Glass art: from Morandin the Swedish school Kosta Boda

Glasses, vases and sculptures designed by Ulrica Hydman and Bertill Vallien of Kosta Boda are now exposed at Morandin shop.

The lightness and the elegance of the glass are the focus of the exhibition dedicated to Kosta Boda brand. Morandin showroom, in Via Palestro 50, is showing now the works of the most ancient Swedish glass factory. Founded in 1742, Kosta Boda has always stood out for its creations, full of great charm and personality; unique works obtained from the use of traditional techniques of glass processing and the most modern innovations in design. For the next three weeks, Morandin will have some very special pieces (vases, glass and glass sculptures), signed by two great artists in the sector: Ulrica Hydman Vallien and Bertill Val¬lien, both present yesterday at the vernissage. The exhibition is also a great chance to see the suggestive art of glass, enhanced by a brilliant display that plays with the elements of nature (water, sand, flowers). You will notice especially the works by Bertill Vallien, known for the use of the most sophisticated «molding technique in sand», which gives the glass a completely new look. The exhibition, which will last for three weeks, just follows the one dedicated to another leading company in the sector, Venini, from Murano. The combination of these two different brands offers a complete overview of the art of glass. Venice represents, with no doubt, the greatest expression of this art, anyway, also in Sweeden, it is developing and growing in a special and original way.
